LAS VEGAS (AP) — A longtime Las Vegas food critic is in critical condition after being struck by an SUV while crossing a street earlier this week.

Henderson police say 63-year-old Max Jacobson was in a crosswalk at Pecos Road and Windmill Parkway when he was hit about 8 a.m. Monday.

Sunrise Hospital officials say he remained at the hospital in critical condition as of Thursday afternoon.

Henderson police spokeswoman Kathleen Richards tells the Las Vegas Sun the SUV driver was not under the influence and investigators haven't determined who is at fault.

Jacobson is a food critic with Vegas Seven magazine and previously held similar posts for Las Vegas Weekly and Vegas Magazine.
