RENO, Nev. (AP) — A woman killed when her sport utility vehicle crashed into a pickup truck on a snowy mountain highway southwest of Reno has been identified as 50-year-old Tracy L. Scott of Reno.
The Nevada Highway Patrol on Monday released the names of victims involved in the crash Friday afternoon on the Mount Rose Highway near Joy Lake Road.
Investigators say Scott may have been pulling onto the highway from a driveway when she lost traction on the snow-covered roadway and her 2001 GMC Yukon slid into the oncoming lane. Her vehicle was struck by a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 36-year-old Kurt Heinrichs of Reno.
Both drivers were taken to a Reno hospital, where Scott was pronounced dead.
Heinrichs was treated and released.
An investigation is continuing.
