HONOLULU (AP) — A Waianae woman is expected to withdraw her not guilty plea in a federal case involving a package containing about six pounds of crystal meth sent from California.
Vyra Kaopua is scheduled to change her plea Monday.
According to a criminal complaint, FedEx security in April intercepted a Waianae-bound package allegedly containing about six pounds of crystal meth. Agents replaced the drugs with fake meth, along with a beeper that would alert agents when it was opened.
The complaint says a Drug Enforcement Administration agent posing as a FedEx deliveryman took the package to the Waianae address, where Kaopua signed for it.
The complaint says Kaopua then helped agents arrest the man she was to deliver the drugs to. She told agents it was the third drug parcel she received.
