Police have identified the victim in this case as Claire Smith, 58, of Elko.
Elko, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Elko deputies are reporting the finding of a dead body, but do not suspect foul play.
According to their report, deputies were called to North 5th Street after a call reporting a truck that had slipped off the road and what appeared to be a dead body. Deputies say the gray Chevy pick-up had slid off of the road, and it appeared that the victim had tried to walk back to town, when she slipped an injured herself. She eventually passed away in the cold.
Detectives are still investigating the incident and have an autopsy arranged for later in the week. The victim has not been identified at this time, pending next of kin notification. Detectives say they do not suspect any foul play in this case.
