LAS VEGAS (AP) — A head-on collision involving a wrong-way driver on U.S. 95 near Las Vegas has killed two people.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says a car was heading the wrong way in the northbound lanes when it collided with an oncoming vehicle Sunday morning north of Las Vegas.
The male drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the 7:15 a.m. accident.
Their names were not immediately released.
They were the only occupants of the vehicles.
Troopers say an investigation is underway to determine why the man in the car was driving the wrong way.
The highway around the accident scene was closed for several hours.
