The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says that criminal charges were filed against James Matlean for the alleged murder of Benjamin Oxley.

Benjamin Oxley was found shot dead in his home at 2800 Wildhorse Ln, Minden, February 21, 2008, officials said.

An active criminal investigation into the murder has been ongoing since that time, and over the course of the investigation, evidence has been discovered that implicates James Matlean, officials said.

Matlean, 23, is a Gardnerville resident. He was booked for the crime of first degree murder, and is being held without bail at the DCSO Minden Jail, officials said.

Those with information are urged to call Douglas County Sheriff's Office Investigator Jon Storke at 775-782-9909, or Secret Witness 775-782-CRIME.

Mark as Offensive

In response to the frivlous murder charge against my son Ben Oxley. My son James has done some bad things. But, he is not a murderer. The only reason for this charge is because I filed a multi-million dollar law-suit against Douglas County and Sheriff Ron Pierini for failing to comply with the Nevada Revised Statutes which require our public officials to abtain and file an official bond before the enter the duties of their offices. Douglas County does not have any official bonds. See. NRS 4.010, 248.020, 252.020 and NRS 282.010.
They are going after my son because I am sueing them for breaking the law.
