The teen who died in a roll-over accident east of Lovelock Tuesday was among three children that were not seatbelted and ejected from the vehicle they were traveling in when it left the interstate Tuesday morning and rolled, officials said.

Zahra Rashidy, 15, died at the scene of the crash, 17 miles east of Lovelock, on Interstate 80 before 10 a.m. Eighteen-year-old Nilab Rashidy, and Sajjad Rashidy, 11, were transported with their parents to Renown Regional Medical Center by medical helicopter.

Mohammad Hussein Rashidy, a 49-year-old resident of Calgary, Canada, and his wife Sadaf Rashidy, 45 were seatbelted.

Mr. Rashidy and his wife remained at Renown Wednesday and continued to receive care, the NHP said.

Some time after 9:30 a.m., Mr. Rashidy lost control of the Nissan Pathfinder he was driving and drove off the right side of the roadway and rolled. Investigators believe the tread separated from the left rear tire of the vehicle.

According to extended family, Mr. Rashidy and his family were traveling to California to attend a wedding.

The NHP's Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is continuing to investigate this accident. Those with information should contact Trooper Robert Haigney at (775) 689-4682, regarding case #NHP-1007130596.
