Truck loses control, drives over median in Sparks

(Sparks, NV) - Sparks Police are still investigating what caused a truck to lose control and drive over a median and sidewalk in Sparks. A Sparks Police Department press release reports that at about 11:15 am Monday, a fuel truck driver was traveling south on Vista Blvd in Sparks, when he lost control of his truck and drove onto the median for about 400 feet, destroying the landscaping on the median.

The driver, 42-year-old Jeffrey Edwards of Elko, then over-corrected the truck and drove onto the sidewalk, running over a "No Parking" sign. Edwards was finally able to stop the truck, but had again ended up on the median, having traveled another 400 feet over the landscape.

There were no other vehicles involved, and no injuries were reported. Edwards was cited for failing to maintain a lane. The Sparks Police Department would like to remind everyone to be careful driving, and slow down when driving on unfamiliar roads.
