MyNews4.com (Reno, NV) - Police are investigating a carjacking that happened Wednesday night in Reno. It all started on the 400 block of West 4th Street. Police say the suspect approached a man in his vehicle and pulled out a gun. He opened the passenger door and forced his way into the car. The suspect ordered the man to drive, then in the area of 7th and Sierra the driver panicked, jerked the steering wheel and crashed his car into a convenience store so he could escape for help. The crash was only minor and the suspect fled on foot. Reno Police say the driver was not hurt.

Investigators say the suspect ran into the Circus Circus Hotel. From there, surveillance video showed him running into the Silver Legacy. The suspect then quickly left and was seen carrying a bag where he claimed to keep his gun.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, six feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. Witnesses say he was wearing a white shirt and light blue pants. The suspect is still on the loose and authorities are asking for help.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
