Authorities say two men were arrested and large quantities of narcotics were seized from their vehicle northwest of Reno Sunday night after state troopers made a routine traffic stop.

Just after 9 p.m. a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper stopped a white 2008 Cadillac Escalade on eastbound Interstate 80 near Mogul for not displaying any visible vehicle registration, according to authorities.

After a Reno Police Department K-9 made a "positive alert" on the vehicle, authorities searched it and found 2.5 pounds of cocaine, and about one pound of marijuana, NHP said.

The driver, Jesus Garcia, 22, of Fernley, and his passenger Alejandro Garcia, 19, of Fairfield, California, were both arrested on charges related to possession and sales of the drugs.

Both men are at the Washoe County Detention Facility and being held on $81,500 bail each.
