RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Economic development officials say two new companies moved to the Reno area in the first quarter of the fiscal year, while two others expanded.

The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada says the business activity generated 236 new jobs, 104,000 square-feet of purchased or leased space and nearly $21 million in economic impact with regards to capital investment, wages and tax revenue.

EDAWN says the two new companies include Randa Accessories, a manufacturer and distributor of luggage, backpacks and business cases; and Energy Tech Labs, a developer and distributor of
conservation projects.

Officials say Randa is opening a distribution center east of Sparks that will employ 40 people. Energy Tech Labs is relocating its headquarters from Modesto, Calif., and will employ 36 people at
its facility in Sparks.
