Emergency personnel evacuated a charter school in Reno Thursday morning after reports of students and faculty having breathing problems while in the building.

The hazardous materials team, several fire trucks and Reno police were on scene at the I Can Do Anything Charter School on Corporate Boulevard by 10:15 a.m. Initial public safety reports indicated that a substance was circulating in the building's ventilation system causing occupants to cough. Reno police later confirmed that a student had put pepper spray into the system.

Authorities reportedly closed Corporate Boulevard between Equity Avenue and Mill Street, according to a News 4 team on scene.
