Web site offers shopping deals while donating to charity

Retailers are gearing up for the biggest shopping day of the year with Black Friday quickly approaching.

Many of these retailers are offering even deeper discounts in one week-- on Cyber Monday.
One Web site, Good Search.com, works with more than 1,000 stores--like Target, Best Buy and Sears to help fund charities.

By shopping online using Good Search.com, users can get big discounts on Cyber Monday with a portion of their purchase going directly to the charity of their choice.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada is one charity users can donate to. The group will receive a check for online donations at the end of this year.

With 13,000 Washoe County children in poverty, the organization says every bit counts.

"We very carefully screen all of our big brothers and big sisters prospects or volunteers and so it helps us with a criminal background check, with all the reference checks, we check the motor vehicle registration," said Pat Fling the CEO for the organization. "We pay for all that, the volunteers don't need to pay for all that, and so these kinds of donations can help us with that screening."
