Weekend storm dumps feet of snow at Tahoe resorts

RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Late fall has been kind to ski resorts at Lake Tahoe.A potent storm the moved into the region on Friday left on Monday after dumping more than 5 feet of fresh snow at the higher elevations.
The storm followed another storm last weekend. Combined,they provided a base of more than 8 feet at some locations and put ski resorts in good shape for the upcoming holiday season.
It's one of the best starts to the ski season in years, and resort operators hope the snow keeps falling after winter officially arrives next week.
