Tulsa rallies for 100-95 victory over Reno

Page Last Updated: Sunday December 27, 2009 12:00am PST
RENO, Nevada-Tulsa outscored Reno by 10 points in the fourth quarter Sunday afternoon, a margin big enough to lift the 66ers to a 100-95 come-from-behind win over the Bighorns in the Reno Events Center.

Reno (5-6) turned a seven-point halftime deficit into a five-point lead entering the fourth quarter. But in the final frame, Tulsa (7-6) leaned on a 12-point effort by guard Mustafa Shakur to upend Reno's bid at a weekend sweep.

Shakur finished with 19 points and seven assists, while Zabian Dowdell came off the bench to chip-in 25 for the 66ers. D.J. White and Bryon Mullens, both on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, combined for 38 points and 17 boards for a Tulsa squad that shot 51.9 percent from the floor.

Desmon Farmer led all scorers with 34 points for Reno. Mo Charlo kicked-in nine points with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Rod Benson finished with 14 points, seven boards and five steals.

Next-up for Reno is a New Year's Day matchup with the Idaho Stampede in the Reno Events Center. Tip-off for Friday's game is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are on-sale now at www.RenoBighorns.com, the Reno Events Center Box Office, Silver Legacy Box Office, or by visiting any Northern Nevada Ticketmaster location or Web site.
